It's odd that this post is even necessary, but due to recently-spread disinformation concerning “Israeli Independence Day,” I felt obliged to clarify this calendar mnemonic, contrary to popular misconception:
The entire tkufah of bayit sheni was never independent either. Check the end of Abarbanel on Melachim II. Many sects of Jews refused to come back during Bayit Sheni because they said it wasn't the real geulah. They were consequently lost to history, as will you if you don't get back here, stop kvetching and help us become truly independent.

But never the erev rav ruled the Jews as they are doing in a state not allowed to exist according to Torah. We Jews had to swear a triple oath to Hashem.
