We are in an existential fight for the survival of humanity, and history teaches us that the Jews are usually targeted first in the Western world. What is happening now in NY to the Jews of Kiryath Joel, is a very ominous sign. If Jews don't stand up to this assault on our freedom, the right to decline a medical treatment or vaccine, then the oppression will only get worse until we have no freedom at all. I couldn't agree with you more, Rabbi Green.

Sadly, I watched this play out beginning in the early fall of 2019 when NJ, NY, and many other states were tasked to remove any and all vx exemptions for children and then further opened up the vx market pies to include adults. We realized something rotten was brewing.

When 2020 happened then when cv19 vx was announced I fell into a PTSD demeanor. I watched the Munsey R. Mizrachi announce his accolades and seemingly worship of the eugenist BG to his sheep "go get your vx so we can hurry up and get back to normal, so this pandemic will be over". I am not a follower of R.Mizrachi but did find myself exploring his teachings off/on. I was absolutely 💯 astounded that a Rabbi or one who follows Torah would even align oneself with the likes of BG. So, either ignorance was prevalent or wisdom was lacking? Who knows? GOD HELP US ALL.

thank ya so much Rabbi Michoel fer lettin' us know about this "shonda" (pardon my writin' in the ver-knack-u-lar but it keeps the bots away an' bein' an "acteur" too bein' in character comes natch'urly ta me)--We left NYSeize after 3+ years of resistin' / not complyin' / livin' on our savin's (which warn't so hot in the foist place)--Our 2 kiddos, tho' homeschooled all--were banned from all their non-homeschooled activities like dance classes, performances, chorus, etc. (one wuz doin' paid work performin' so her career went splat) AND the homeschool community in NYSeize split like the (pre-weakened) Titanic on the iceberg....leavin' many've us in icy warters indeed! I took a lotta heat from the compliant side (in four letter woids) fer holdin' homeschool actin' classes with unmasked, unjabbed, undistanced teens--"irresponsible" I wuz, "riskin' bein' reported" an' I wuz "puttin' kids at risk" -- all bull-oney (we held classes (secular) in a sympathetic Catholic church that also disagreed with the "mandates"--tho' nutthin' wuz faked/forged, etc). NONE of our kids got sick AT ALL while many've the "good" homeschoolers got covid an' changed genders (oy)--Our group turned inta a robust co-op that still continues (we had ta leave the Rotten Apple cuz both the hubby an' I were banned). I'm sorry ta say our temple (Emanu-El in Manhattan--woke, sadly, but good human beans thar) went full out mask + vaxx-cwazy even when they resumed "in poison" activities...)...

We're ex Brooklynites, Williamsberg wuz one neighborhood over so my girls grew up 'round the Orthodox includin' seein' Satmars near-daily. What they did ta their own is jus' tragic--I hope their kids'll be ok. Bein' fruitful an' multiplyin' mebbe impossible given the ill fx of them clot-shots...

I give more slack ta them that got monkey'd records--at least they warn't doin' harm ta their kinder. Less ta any that pushed the jab on their famblies (my own ma wuz such a "victim" thanks ta her husband the "dok-turd"--an' she's alive but not OK...) Anywayz, we know many fellow chews whose grandparents escaped the SS by lyin' about "who" they were--our good friend Helen (long gone) wuz taken in by a Catholic fambly when she wuz 9--her blonde hair an' blue eyes an' perfect German saved her life. One of her parents didn't fare so well--the other made it to America. So it's hard to judge those that did wrong on paper--I have trouble bein' harsh as I cain't step inta their shoes. But I'll tell ya that fer us--my girls (one now a young adult) are still feelin' the lost years, lost progress, lost friends, an' tho' healthy--their spirits are not back where they "whar" in spite've my best efforts. Them teen years is hard when yer kept away from all ya love...

Now we're in "yenemsville" livin' with fambly (cuz waitin' it out we went full out broke--my hubby's office didn't drop the jab mandates until 11/22)--I joke (but it's twoo) that we're now in the land where they no longer have the "chewish" aisle in the grocery--no aisle with gefilte & Manischewitz EVEN THO' I always made homemade/organic an' didn't purchase the mass produced. Imagine a grocery aisle bein' a sort've "talis-man" fer us chews bein' accepted--now WE are like the dreidel players (not conversos, still bein' "ourselfs" in a quiet kinda way...playin' our "game" ta stay safe in a land where not all around us are sympathetic....). Sigh. I do hope the Kirath Joel rabbis weren't among those bribed... yup, I heard that in Brooklyn at least they bribed rabbis... painful ta hear.

Blessin's from the boondocks of NewYawk (the schtate not the city)

PS Currently STILL in place from Emanu-El in NYC... just checked, it's SAD....

We continue to review our Covid policy to ensure it follows New York City and State, CDC and WHO guidelines. Please note this policy is subject to change.

Congregants, Guests and Visitors

All entrants to the temple are required to be fully vaccinated to participate in temple programs and events. The temple is no longer checking vaccination status at the door.

Masks will be recommended and optional for all congregants, guests and visitors. The temple will continue to provide KN95 masks at entry and at programs.

There will no longer be a mask-only section at worship and events.

Members should stay home when they do not feel well or are exhibiting signs of Covid.

Members may return to 5 days after onset of symptoms, or 5 days after the date of the positive test if symptoms are improving and they have not had a fever for 24 hours (without antipyretic medications such as aspirin or Tylenol).

Members do not have to test to return, but must wear a tight-fitting mask for 10 days after they return. (WHAT????!!!!!!)

Members who are immunocompromised or in high-risk categories should consult with their medical doctors prior to participating in worship or other programs.

B’nei Mitzvah families and families marking lifecycle events (baby naming, bris, funeral, wedding) do not need to wear masks on the bimah or test prior to services or events.

Family members who travel to the temple from outside NYC and will be on the bimah are encouraged to rapid test prior to services and to wear masks if they had significant exposure during their travels.

Photo sessions may take place prior to services or events.

Religious School Students

The Religious School remains mask optional.

All students must present proof of vaccination prior to the start of school unless they have provided proof of vaccination. (YES even NOW)

For students who have not yet turned five years old, proof of the first vaccination shot must be provided prior to the start of religious school.

Students may return to class 5 days after onset of symptoms, or 5 days after the date of the positive test if symptoms are improving and they have not had a fever for 24 hours (without antipyretic medications such as aspirin or Tylenol).

Students do not have to test to return, but must wear a tight-fitting mask for 5 days after they return.

Please note that the nursery school will have additional specific statutory guidelines per the NYC Department of Health guidelines.
