So here's the "rub" ta put in Shakespearian terms--Israel "should be" a chewish state but the swamp there made sure the land was not "ours", the state was not reall chewish (nor did it honor jewish values as it should have)--
BUT most of our famblies--ancestors too--had no understandin' of the swamp creatures behind the "political zionist facade" and indeed--to them zionism meant one thing--self-determination and return to a homeland-- a place to be able to "be joos" --
SO... I will not/cannot shout with the "anti-zionists" that wanna destroy Israel and everyone in it (joos an' other so-called infidels) so I can denounce "zionism as it's practiced" but I cannot be an "anti-" as that sides with the haters--an' there are MANY haters who'd like to see all of us dead (they are now goin' after all of us--not just the zionists...).
Indeed, the "gubbamint" there is rotten--BBGun a pharma shill who sold out the fertility and data of his people--an' barters in death. That is war crimes against his own who he's sacrificin' in a war that's destroyin' all the young people.
BUT but but I'd be horrified to see Israel destroyed and "returned" to the "Palestinians" (who are not really a people and who really did not "own" the land or have it blessed to them by G_d/Hashem per Torah or per over 3K years of livin' on it) -- and I cannot wish for so many GOOD people (some related ta me) be destroyed... as the "anti's" wish...
Got no answers but just as I can love America an' decry our rotten leaders, I can love Israel as the land of milk & honey an' our "souls" an' decry the leaders there too...
Now near-all poly-tisch-uns are bought/paid for--but back in the day I think there were "good eggs" genuinely wanting Israel to thrive (like those you spoke of Rabbi Michoel!) an' similarly there have been some in the US too...
So I'm pro-Israel but I avoid sayin' "zionist" for all these reasons... and I still pray for all those livin' there... we are put inta an impossible situation (imho)
